This incredible journey takes you into the foothills of the Himalayas, where you can trek to remote monasteries and temples and explore Shimla, the former summer capital of the British Raj. It also takes you off the beaten track into some wonderful scenic areas. This journey is fairly active, but every traveler will be rewarded with some breath taking sights of the Himalayan footsteps.

Duration – 14 nights 15 days

Day 1 – NEW DELHI
Arrive in New Delhi in the early hours and transfer to the hotel for a morning at leisure. Later visit the Old City which includes visit to Jama Masjid Mosque & rickshaw ride through the narrow street’s, drive past the impressive Red Fort and visit Rajghat.

Day 2 – NEW DELHI
The morning’s sighteeing starts after breakfast and takes you into the verdant avenues of New Delhi, where you will drive along Rajpath pass India Gate, Parliament House and the President’s residence. The tour includes visit to the Qutab Minar complex and Unesco World Heritage Site of Humayun’s Tomb.

Day 3 – NEW DELHI / NALAGARH
Early morning train journey by shatabdi express brings you to Chandigarh-the first planned city of Independent India. From here proceed by road to the beautiful town of Nalagarh (60 kms/ 1 1/2 hours).

Day 4 & 5 – NALAGARH / PRAGPUR
A short drive takes you to Ramgarh Fort, the start of today’s walk. This afternoon you will drive to Pragpur (190 kms / 7 hours) and check into the hotel for a 2 night stay. following day to trek & explore the local market.

Day 6 – PRAGPUR / DHARAMSHALA
A 2 km walk through the attractive countryside to Garli, the sister village of pragpur. From here you will drive to Dharamshala (60 kms / 3 hours) via the famous Jwala ji temple. Home for next 2 nights will be Surya Resort.

Day 7 – DHARAMSHALA
A full day trekking towards Triund permits views of the Dalai Lama’s home and temple before returning to Surya Resort.

Day 8 & 9DHARAMSHALA / PALAMPUR
After a leisurely breakfast visit the Norbulingka Institute, dedicated to the preservation of the Tibetan culture. Then travel by road enjoying the views of Dhauladhar range (70 kms / 2 hours). Check-in to the Taragarh Palace hotel for 2 night stay. The following day, after a short drive, you will trek down a gentle descent through lovely Kangri villages to a Buddhist monastery.

Day 10 –PALAMPUR/ NAGGAR
Enjoy local craftsmanship or take a gentle trek from Bir to Billing, a popular paragliding spot. Post lunch drive to Naggar (180 kms / 6 hours) and arrive at Naggar Castle for a two night stay.

Day 11 –  NAGGAR
Tracking today at Naggar is a pure delight which takes you through unspoiled villages and stunning scenery. Overnight is at the Naggar Castle.

Day 12 & 13 –  NAGGAR / SHIMLA
After breakfast this morning you will drive to the Oberoi Cecil in Shimla (290 kms/9 hours) for a two night stay. Explore the beautiful summer capital of the British.

Day 14 –  SHIMLA / NEW DELHI
A morning drive to Kalka (90 kms / 3 hours) in time for your train to Delhi where you will have a room for day use at a hotel until you are transferred to the airport for your international connection.

Day 15- NEW DELHI / DEPARTURE BACK HOME
Your flight departs early this morning for your home.
